Freedom + Conflict
The positive thing about freedom and conflict is that both balance each other out to a reasonable amount where one cannot rule another. A cost to have freedom is to have order and an advantage is that you have both freedom and order to create a perfect society. Freedom and conflict are two opposites, one allows to have peace but the other causes violence. An example of the paradoxical acts can be found in North Korea where families a limited to their freedoms and conflict arises as soon as the government does not approve of their acts against it.
october reflection
To reach my academic goals this year I will be trying to participate more in class activities and paying more attention. I do struggle on reading books, but eventually I will be reading more and more book, articles, etc. Participating in class is getting more doable for me. I see myself asking and answering more in the future. Some of my strengths I have are being able to work well when in a group/collaboration.

One fact about “The Crucible” is that in this story a big factor to the problem is scapegoating. Many of the townspeople point fingers at one another not knowing if the person is guilty of any wrongdoings. While reading “The Crucible” I felt that the rage of different types of characters was the perfect amount. The characters in “The Crucible” are very thought out to make the feelings reach out to the readers. A new idea that I learned while reading “The Crucible” is the fact that using historical background in a story, play, novel, etc. can make the story so much more stronger and intriguing. An personal decision I will make based on my reading and understanding of “The Crucible” is to not point fingers at anyone when I don’t have enough evidence to support my claim.
Growth Mindset
Growth mindset is the idea of growing knowledge after failing at a certain challenge again and again. A big component to this is the change over time of having to fail at something and how it contributes to your self-esteem. In an article written by Carol Dweck, a Harvard Business Review, implies that when people with a growth mindset are hit with challenges will persevere and believe that they can do the impossible because they know that the more they try, the more that they will increase their intelligence and confidence. With increasing progress in the brain, that person will more likely turn out successful in the future. On the other hand, when someone with a fixed mindset is faced with challenges or receives criticism over time, he or she will eventually give up and grow insecurities about themselves. This allows their conscience know that in the future, they’re going to avoid that situation again and not let people see unintelligent side of them. This is what leads them to become less successful in the future (5-6). The importance of this is the fact that many people are afraid of facing challenges because they feel like it will degrade their self-esteem and future. The truth is that facing new environments will increase your brain skills and allow you to thrive in the coming future.
Growth Mindset Artifact
The two lockers show how you and your self-esteem come in the way of your learning process. The concept behind these two lockers is that a fixed mindset will only lead to the process of giving up and leaving the locker to an end. The second locker represents a growth mindset and once you open up, there will be many more challenges on the way. The point of this to keep going and not give up. Both of these lockers relates to the changes over time icon because as you go on with your opened locker you will have to open up to new challenges. As for the fixed mindset, over time he or she will give up. Both of these lockers show different contributions but once they both get opened, it's your choice if you want to push yourself to new limits.

Growth Mindset Reflection
Something I learned about the growth mindset project was that no matter how many times I did a task wrong that the most important thing was to learn from my mistakes the future projects. I also never knew that the idea of growth mindset was existent. I learned about myself was that I work well with others, but when it comes to saying ideas I don’t know how to tell them I don’t like their idea. Another thing was that critical thinking was a major factor when you have to make a project. Every little detail or part of the project has to have a meaning to the topic. Overall, this project has showed me many more perspectives on how to think critically and different looks on the world.
What does it mean to be american? What is the American dream?
To be an American is a great privilege. I as an American citizen am allowed to vote when I reach the age of 18, get a driver license at the age 18, etc. There are so many opportunities to succeed in society today. Most of all to me it means to be free and to be proud that I live in the United States. The American Dream is the belief that every citizen is given the equal amount of opportunities to prosper through hard work and determination.

O Captain! My Captain
By: Walt Whitman
Dear Tio, my Tio, your rocky journey is complete
The family has cried every tear, and the goal we sought was met.
Time has passed, the bells rung, the family celebrating your life.
While others go along with theirs, focused on their goals and dreams;
Though my heart has throbbed, the sound of a ventilator
filled me. There you were lying on the bed,
looking heavenly and at peace.
Dear Tio, my Tio, arise and listen to the church bells;
Arise--for you the family is united--for you we remember,
For you bouquets and candles--for you a crowded home
For you they reconcile, the swaying and flickering of flames;
their cheerful faces turning; Here Tio!, dear Tio!
This commemoration is for you,
It is a dream that you make it to a better place,
There you were lying in bed, looking heavenly and at peace.
My Tio does not answer, his lips are pale and still,
My aunt cannot feel my arm, she has no pulse or will,
The tears are now safe and sound, its voyage is close to being done,
From the beginning was a fearful trip, but now the object is won;
Exult O angels, and ring O bells! But I will always remember the kiss you blew,
Walking into your room with my head down,
Where you laid heavenly and at peace.
